I probably would have benefited from this kind of thing when I was in school. Pass it along if you know any students, teachers, or professors you know think might be interested in the info, or sharing it with their classes.

So You Want to Major in Art, Music, Dance, Writing or Theatre,
But Then What?

This free panel discussion is intending for all high school and college students interested in exploring a career as a professional artist and/or arts administrator. Parents of students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Date: Sunday, October 4, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Location: MCAD, 2501 Stevens Ave. Minneapolis
Registration: Free, but attendees should pre-register online at www.springboardforthearts.org

Parents want to guide their children toward college and career choices that will be rewarding. Sometimes parents and students are steered away from careers in the arts because of the common misconception that one cannot make a living as an artist. This workshop will help both students and parents better understand the options and how best to plan for and support a decision to pursue an education and a life in the arts- visual, theatrical, musical, design, literary, performance - our panel of local working artists in a variety of disciplines will talk about their career in the arts and answer your questions.

We'd greatly appreciate encouraging your students to attend this panel. If you have questions, please contact nikki@springboardforthearts.org

Springboard for the Arts is a non-profit organization based in St. Paul that helps artists make a living. For more information, please visit www.springboardforthearts.org
