It's a type of rare aquatic sea cucumber.

We had a bit of a storm here. They tend to be pretty wussy in the city proper, though. Presumably spacebug was in the burb's (at her mother's) and was able to experience a proper t-storm.

Though I did get to stand out in my backyard during some heavy rain (it was slightly chilly).

And I was. We got lightning and thunder and the whole thing. Mom thought it was hailing at one point, but I think she was mistaken.
