Back to work.

My long weekend was probably equal parts holiday stress and holiday fun. Social circle stress, too, just for good measure. Booo.

Went rock climbing for the first time yesterday. Pretty fun. It's a very different kind of exercise than I'm used to. Derby is more all about cardiovascular endurance in short bursts. Climbing seems to be all about a slower kind of focus, calculation and strength. Interesting, anyway. I might go again if people ask, but I don't know that it's an activity I'll get into on my own as much as yoga or skating. But I tried something new and it was fun. Plus my current non-skating, non-yoga-ing, christmas-cookie-eating body had been crying for some kind of physical activity.

I really want to start yoga classes again.

Then I went home and worked on the music set, which I'm starting to freak out about a bit, seeing how my first solo performance in over two years is under a week away. Eep. I'm not as far along on that as I'd hoped to be by now, but I'm getting there. What I have done I like a lot, at least.

S4's sister wanted to get together and play games today. I can't, I need to keep working on music. I know other than Sunday I haven't spent much time with his family recently, but I surely can't be the only one who could use some non-family time this week.

Allergic boss is out for most of the week, so K's furry studio assistant is down here for now, "helping", by alternately laying across my keyboard and trying to eat the poinsettia.

Hey, I've got a fun game! It's called 'Get the hell down from there!'

hee. Kitty.

Yay for yoga buddies!

I'd been going to the Y in Uptown. I started going there because my yoga buddies were/are members there so it was significantly cheaper for them there than going to another studio. I'm not a member, so I don't have a monetary reason to keep going there, but now it's familiar and I know what instructors I like, so it'd be easy to stay there (other than the driving clear across town through rush hour.) I also really like the post-yoga hot tub, so I'd miss that if I went somewhere else. But- my derby captain teaches yoga and her classes are MUCH cheaper and probably closer for me. I'm not sure if she's teaching again since she broke her ankle a couple months ago. I'd been going with star5 and dangerdhotrod, but star5 probably won't sign up for a January session- and I don't think danger's a member anymore. *shrug*
