busy day...

...beginning with the exorcism of the toilet demons. whee. Headed to the rock^3 for good company and leftovers, went to bloomington for some shopping and birthday meal with Mom, came home to assemble star5's christmas present and was then excited and suprised at its being done in a single sitting so I had to go deliver it before heading to my brother's own triple threat party complete with karoke. Got in a quick round of DDR and said howdy to rahna while we were there. Yow. I could use another day off or something.

s4 bought me a pair of neato dress shoes. I rarely wear dress shoes but they were neat and they were so cheap you couldn't argue with them. Thanks, s4! Also had a productive Target spree. Maybe Star5 and I are sharing the brain again.

Making star5's fuzzy star backpack was really fun even though I got red fuzzies all over the floor. I hadn't had the sewing machine out for a while and it felt nice to make stuff again. Brought back a bit of pre-burning-man excitement, maybe. It was my first attempt sewing adjustable strappy things; an interesting bit of problem solving. Star5 said it would be the perfect thing to bring to a rave, if they all weren't damn near illegal now. thppt. Anyway, it was fun to make and she seems to like it a lot and that always feels good too.

My cough is not getting better yet, though I am happy that it does not seem to be strep throat (I had a possibly contagious co-worker). Perhaps my newly acquired multivitamins will help me kick its ass into submission quickly so my enjoyment of the new year is unhindered by throat goblins.
