Lots going on, lately...
Friday I hung out with
rahna and
star5, checked out the St. Paul Art Crawl after cheap triple rock dinners and pinball. Later we also got caffeinated and watched Brain Candy, which I'd never seen before. nice to have a girls' night; I rarely do that kind of thing. Helped haul some gear for
djnoise before returning home very late, only to get up early with the same folks for triple rock breakfast to see a friend from out of town. We then went to the kite store and bought kites, and were rather unsuccessful at flying them for lack of wind, but it was nice to be outside.
Went to a birthday shindig/music jam last night which was overpopulated by acoustic guitars, tab charts and forgotten lyrics. I'm either a music snob of a strange predeliction, or I just easily forget how uniquely the types of jams I normally attend really operate. So it wasn't really my thing, but it was nice to see folks anyway, and I'm glad I went.
Stopped down post-party at drunk rush to First Avenue; looking at the line to get into the main room I got another good dose of a slice of humanity I normally avoid (s4 and I sneaked our way onto the guest list of the VIP room instead.) Saw a few folks there and noise had a very nice trance set and a full dance floor when we arrived.
Today we went to the concom meeting, which are the same mix of boredom, necessity, amusement, and hot tub hijacking as usual.
just spent more time outside in the park (instead of going to the punk show I was going to go to) where I attempted again to fly my new kite. s4 had a lot more success than me. I also brought my poi outside, which I'm feeling rather stupid at as well. So while the weather was beautiful, it was kind of discouraging. Oh well. Our kites were borrowed by some bossy neighborhood children who dragged mine unmercifully through the dirt and decided it wasn't necessary to say please or thank you. I guess it was also sort of cute, if you like that sort of thing. I think I must be old; just last week I also mentally scolded those other darn kids in the middle of the street on their bikes, riding nearly into the front of my car. Humbug.
Okay, I need ice cream!
