Wedding Done.
Aug. 3rd, 2003 12:58 amSo my younger cousin's all married and stuff. I shed my bridesmaid's dress like an old skin right inside the door after wearing it almost 10 hours; probably a record for me and something strapless. I'm feeling much more like me in my underpants. The feeling of me-ness may return all the more with the removal of my wedding manicure. Synopsis: very... well... wedding-like. Very white dress. Everyone looked Very Nice. My family is super great, though, I've never seen them have so much fun, even with pretty standard wedding dj fare. Through the verynormalgirl exterior of the rest of the bridesmaids, there's some really cool personalities in there, and I genuinely enjoyed talking to them and being part of the wedding party. I had fun sitting up on the big table and had fun dressing up, even if it wasn't something I'd normally ever wear. s4 looked great in his suit. The necklaces I made got lots of nice comments, too. The food was great (enough veg stuff for me! yay!), the wine was free (my entire extended family seems unnaturally adept at keeping a buzz on without making fools of themselves. Kudos to us!), and everyone was happy. My Dad came and had a good time. I've never seen a wedding dancefloor so packed, despite some of the worst trainwrecks I've ever heard (and not just 'cause star5, noise and rahna have made me a beatmix snot. honest.) They all screamed for more even as the lights came on. I saw my aunt and uncle from Texas, second cousins from North Carolina, and family friends came all the way from Germany for the occassion. Crazybig- about 300 people, I think. And pretty much all the weddings in my family are like that.
Now I just have to get through the Art Fair tomorrow, and craziness just might subside a little.
On the newhomefront, I kicked some ass on the kitchen and living room. We are an AV-ready household, with projector and big white wall. yay! We are also stove, oven, and microwave accessible, and all the dishes are in the cupboards. yay! Now I just need to get more actual groceries. One could live on toaster strudel and take-out alone, I suppose, but it probably wouldn't be very pretty.
