home again home again, jiggity jig.
Sep. 3rd, 2003 06:54 pmBack from Black Rock. I almost just typed that "Black from Back Rock". (sigh) I had a really really good time, and while I'm enjoying the comforts of plumbing, not being in dust storms, and a real bed, returning from Black Rock always makes it feel like there's so much missing from real life. I expect re-entry to hit me pretty hard this week, especially after I return to work. Having to deal with money issues already. Puketastic.
Highlights from this year include:
-Helping Star5 build her sculpture
-firedancing at ReOrient while Oliver swung torches, all during a pretty severe dust storm -getting to hear noise dj for a sizable crowd (also at ReOrient)
-overall talking to more people and sharing more gifts than I have in the past
-our neighborhood swimming pool
-seeing the bell tree and then meeting the artist and getting to take a bell home
-the puppet show
-the sound runway
-seeing Medicine Drum
-riding on art cars
-the bamboo bridge
-Flight to Mars
...and pretty much the whole of the night of the burn was a blast.
It made me happy that Oliver got to come with us. It made me happy to see Chris again. It made me happy to sit around in center camp, watching people juggle or do contact improv or capioera or play with poi or play accordian or play go or play drums or give massages or hand out presents. It made me happy to be there with s4 for the 2nd year in a row.
'Bye, Black Rock. See you next year.
P.S. My computer works again. yay!
