Still no word on the apartment.
I'd really have a better time at Omegacon with this not hanging over my head.
I called the corporate office yesterday and left a message. I tried again today and the lady I have to talk to still isn't at her desk. So I left another message with the site manager guy, who I called on Wednesday. I'm not sure how much of a pest of myself to make. But, as Mom says, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or perhaps, the pesky would-be tennant gets the apartment. I hope.
Edit: Site manager guy called back and says he's left *three* messages and told them he wants to know today, and joked about us having murdered anyone lately... He also said that if people are turned down they pretty much know immediately, so it's acutally a good sign it's taking some time.
All the same, I'd like to know for sure!

Otherwise, I'm in a good mood today. I'm excited for the weekend, it's sunny out, I had my morning coffee + book time at the Spyhouse before work this morning. I'm starting to know the 8am regulars. A lady who looked about in her 60's or maybe 70's smiled at me over her coffee cake and said "I saw you here yesterday." I replied that I'd seen her yesterday as well. Then on my way to the car I passed a guy standing on the corner. I thought he said something to me so I stepped closer and inquired what he'd said. He kind of shook to awareness and said "Oh, nah, I'm just singin'. How you doin'?" I said I was doing well and told him to have a good day. It was kind of a cool morning.

There are things for me to do, but they're kind of dependent on other people doing things first. I'd like to update the job book and scoot early and get myself to Wisconsin. We'll see.

The site manager called and said the office asked him to send our application again. As in, they lost it. Or never got it. Or something. (Wonder what happened to our application fees and deposit then, hmm...?) They "put a rush on it", but we might not be moving next week after all. Good thing we paid our rent in the current little place with no heat though the month, I guess.

On the bright side, I'm hoping this means we won't be paying an extra half-months rent for November. I think that'd be fair...

If we end up temporarily homeless because of this, I'm going to be upset. Given our current landlords, I really doubt this, but I'm just saying.

Gah.
