Babbling about the new digs.
Nov. 22nd, 2004 09:29 amStayed up too late again last night, but I'm now able to sleep until almost 8 if I want, which is the time I'm normally used to leaving the house if I wanted to have my half hour book and coffee at the Spyhouse. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to work, hooray! I informed the barista that I'd moved to St. Paul over the weekend and he said I was the second person that morning he'd talked to that had done so. I paused to read an article posted by the place with the water and coffee additives, and while I did that, the he offered me a free soy chocolate shake thingy "in celebration of my homecoming", which I thought was very nice of him indeed. The article was also a really cool thing to stumble upon, so I've decided to repost it here for you. It so eloquently sums up the way I attempt to see the world, especially right now: ( Howard Zinn pretty well rocks. )
So, so far I'm feeling okay about living in St. Paul. We're eager to unpack and have our warehousewarming, and I'm sure the novelty of having a space big enough to host parties will not wear off quickly, especially after being soooo cramped in our last place.
All sources point to the new space being pretty much as we predicted: a mix of lovably and annoyingly idiosyncratic, but damn cool enough to make up for it. I'd like to post pictures of my own, but first I have to find my battery charger and set up my computer and stuff. For now, there's one in
s4's entry of one view from our loft, that makes it look deceptively more unpacked and organized than it is.

So yeah. I'm super excited to go to the reuse center for decorating and to repaint (though we haven't decided what colors...)
Anyway. What else? Oh yeah.
Does anyone want our old loft? If there's no takers, it will probably go to the dumpster, and I hate to waste something potentially useful.
