I woke up in the city that never sleeps.
Feb. 1st, 2005 12:12 amAh, staying so busybusy here.
Enjoying new york. Star5 makes me want a laptop. Managing to stay unsick, which seems to be quite a feat in this little crew. Eating so much food, my goodness.
It was fabulous to run around Manhattan with figment and azure. I wish they could have stayed for the opening. New York subways are more confusing than London or DC, but still managing to get around just fine. Last night a few of us went to an event called Share at the same club star5 dj'ed on Friday. It was very sensor re:engine. Talked to some french guys who are pioneering this crazy music touchpad interface. It's brand-new and looks like something out of star trek, and apparently they're working with the Ableton crew. I didn't ask but am guessing it's insanely expensive. Talked to another guy about his gameboy setup and he gave me a cd. Hooray! He did really cool stuff, too, mostly LSDj based. Have done lots of running around, mostly in the village and lower Manhattan. Very little touristy stuff, which is fine by me... helped a lot with the installation today, inflated many a balloon. Wrote an artists statement for our heroes that all ended up on the cutting room floor, but it was fun to help despite. Sister Snufflewump learned to play silent football, so Sister Snufflewump is now prepared for image node playa tournaments next year. Very cool to see our New York friends and the Image Node crew of NY Burners again, and was gifted with a 7-inch from ClarkovSaturn. Now I'll have an even better reason to get a turntable. Or two. Sometime. I hope very much that R0ckc4ndy and I will get to ride horses in prospect park tomorrow- that would just be so completely awesome. Trying not to freak out about how much less money I'll have soon. Have no doubt it's all worth it, but I stress all the same.
Looking forward to getting the ion upon my return to the midwest, but mostly looking forward to seein' my S4.
Art Opening Day tomorrow!
Time for sleep.
