And my weekend is over.
A flurry of activity from start to finish, and I still managed to miss at least two parties and Rollerderby.
Worked Art Crawl, but didn't really manage to see any of it, though. Oh well. By the time I was done being "on" for everyone on Friday, I was kind of worn out on crowds. So S4 and I went to get some galactic pizza, and it was good.
Saturday started with breakfast, and then I picked up my motorcycle. Yay! And then we did a mad cleaning of the house before I went back to work the Art Crawl some more. And then my Mom and Dad came to the crawl to visit, and then we went out for dinner. And then I went to see Ulrich Schnauss and M83 at the Triple Rock, and had fun. And then I went to bed. And then I woke up early and thought, oh yeah, some stuff is due for that convention meeting today. So dangerdangerhotrod and I got that stuff done and failed to go out for breakfast how we wanted to because our favorite places looked all super crowded and instead just went to the meeting and got there early for once.
( some minor concom meeting griping. )
The highlight of my weekend was seeing Moby at First Ave. And I got to feel all swanky, 'cause I got in on Moby's guest list and a backstage pass and everything. (Thanks, R!) Turns out, the backstage passes weren't good for much besides making us feel cool, as Moby was out and mingling with all his fans anyway, and there wasn't any big afterparty for them or anything- just a long bus ride to Kansas City. But, we did get to meet him, I have a nifty souvenir, and he asked if he could draw on the back. (Of course!) So now my Moby backstage pass looks like this on the back:

*grin* It's the first pass I've ever gotten for something other than being a roadie or an event I helped put on.
And, more importantly, the show was really really good. I realized how much I compartmentalize his stylistic differences. Having all of them together in a show made me really appreciate them. And the loungey radiohead cover was a nice treat, as was the wanky guitar duel- if for no other reason than his explanation of the contrast a wanky guitar duel has with his rather charming innate dorkiness.
Playing heavy metal guitar chords makes me feel mighty.
Today, the black dog is being renovated.
No coffee for me.
Poo.
But it is yoga day, and I have leftover luce. I'm excited about both of these things.
