May. 11th, 2005 10:29 amThat silly need for sleep is making me feel old again. After yoga and then staying up too late followed by waking up early to work on music followed by not taking the nap I planned on after work in favor of attempting somewhat strenuous home improvement projects and then not eating dinner until very late... well, by the time I even got around to driving through the rain to get to the show I almost wished I'd stayed home.
(But I did teach myself to use S4's compound miter saw, for which I am proud.)
I make no illusions that my physical and mental state of being by the time I got to the show heartily colored my experience, but I really wasn't into it. I wasn't upset or grumpy or anything, and it was very nice to see some people... just on the whole, the scene wasn't floating my boat. If I don't have the energy to dance, I don't think a lot of pop-industrial has enough substance to keep my interest up.
* Not to be interpreted as a slam on Silent folks, who have little to do with my sleeping habits, mutable musical preferences, or attitude adjustments.
Anyway, it was the right decision for me to bail early and go to bed.
