Monday Monday Monday.

I do not have to rollerskate for a month if I don't want to. How bizarre. Thank you to aaaaalll of you who came out to watch the bout. Rockit Superfans are totally the Super-est. I hope you all had tons of fun and I wish I'd had time to hang out with you more. I like playing first better so that I get to hang out with my friends and watch a second half without being preoccupied.

I am surprised at myself for how upset I feel about our losing, though. I thought I would shrug it off a lot more easily. I think that there were moral implications shoved onto this game, and that's why it bothers me more than it would otherwise... that being defeated this time by this team somehow speaks to a failure of larger principles even if it doesn't. Sports are funny that way; I was made to think of the print that Azure used to have of a painting of the Olympic hockey game in Lake Placid when the US beat the USSR. The triumph of Capitalism on a rink, even though it's "only a game". Anyway. It was a good game and I hope it was fun to watch. The Gardas played well. I do think the calls were highly stacked against us, but no one likes a whiner who tries to scapegoat their loss to a ref, so I won't.

I did not sleep well; I blame this on having my first caffeine of the day right before bed (brilliant move, spacebug), on my muscles being twitchy from playing, from my mind not being able to stop thinking about the game, and S4 being kinda snorey. I woke up at about 5:30 and stayed awake for about an hour, then got back to sleep in just enough time for it to make me extra tired when the alarm hit. Awesome. I probably would be faring better if I'd just stayed up.

Since I'd tried to convince a handful of the Black Dog employees to go to derby last night, I told the barista that we lost and that I was going to get a fancy consolation mocha. He put two shots of espresso in and only charged me for one ('cause I bring my own cup), and drizzled fancy chocolate over a spire of whipped cream. I smiled and remarked at the extras, and he said it always makes him happy when people order fancy drinks. So my week's off to an okay start.

I have many much envelopes to stuff.
I wish a certain large foundation would give us our money, already; it was due last month and small things like not having to worry whether we'll be getting a paycheck the period before christmas would sure be nifty. Grr.

Aw, crap.

I can't find my phone!

If anyone wants to call me, call S4's phone, 'kay?

EDIT:
Phone found, safely in the custody of one of the Rockits. Yay! Hope I'll get it back soon.
