Missed S4 yesterday. Usually he has Saturdays off, so not having him around for the first half of my weekend felt strange. He did manage to navigate trains enough to get himself to SF proper and hang out with miss apricot and starfive, which is good. The biggest side-product of his training out there seems to be a taste for very expensive software that his current computer isn't hefty enough to run. Poor guy.

I worked on music and then headed out to the Current listener appreciation party with Kitty Whompass, as volunteers for the Rollergirls. I don't know why no one else not busy in North Carolina today wanted to show up for that bit of promotion, but we were the only two willing and able to do it. I was a little worried about it, as we had very little information, our names never ended up on the guest list, and we weren't really sure what we were tasked with as volunteers, though I suspected sitting at a table all night or somesuch thing. But the door guy suspected our honesty and let us in without a hitch (we had the raffle merch and team shirts as alibi)- and were immediately shown up to the VIP room, offered Current birthday cake, free beer and pizza luce, and schmoozed a bit with Current dj's, staff and volunteers. (Jill Riley is a Rockits fan and is saving up to buy some speedy skates. yay!) Our former teammate is now management at 1st ave- upon finding her, she supplied us with hugs, shoulder checks, and more drink tickets. Rose and Eric were out and it was lovely to see them as well. Got to see a set by POS, played pinball, got just enough drunk for free, and generally had a swell time, though I realized after the fact that it would have been really fun to be at the club on skates- though that may have been ill advised with the free drinks.

Today I headed out to the Benefit for Miss Rachel. Good job, guys. I joked to Scott that it'd sure be great if we knew any creative and talented people.

I finished off my evening with a rousing game of Scrabble at the Spyhouse and a bean burrito at Little T's. Now I'm home and wishing I felt more tired than I do. Also wish I'd worked more on the music ideas I've got going today. Oh well.

The snow that's happening now isn't quite heartbreak snow, but almost. There's something I love driving alone on nearly deserted streets at night, especially when it's snowing. It feels almost like the world is made only for you at that moment.

I look forward to my trip out west.
