Pandora is playing me some nifty stuff this afternoon- mostly mellow yet glitchy, just how I like it. Currently: No Party Wind/Vomit by Solo Yoko. It is motivating me to get quite a bit of work done. My boss came in for a few hours but now it is just me again. I feel better listening to music at my desk when I'm the only one here.

Pretty thoroughly enjoyed my Snow Afternoon yesterday. Left at noon, took a nap, had some cocoa, and played with Ableton on the lappy while lounging in bed, and made yum-tastic tacos with S4 once he came home. Can't beat that with several sticks. Emailed a place that would likely be the most perfectest place for S4's and my imminent relocation, except that they have a waiting list. We'll see.

Boy, this post is thrilling, huh?

CALLING ALL WRITERS!

The Minnesota RollerGirls would like to recruit an impartial fan to write brief bout recaps for use on the Minnesota RollerGirls web site and in Minnesota RollerGirls press releases. You should: love derby and understand the game well enough to be able to write about its intricacies, not be solidly behind one team (or be able to set those allegiances aside to write an impartial recap), be available to attend all home bouts for the remainder of this season and all of next season (schedule unknown at this time), and be able to turn around each recap within 48 hours after every bout.

In return, you will get one trackside season ticket for next season, free trackside admission to the remaining two bouts this season, a special press pass (that will enable you to roam the sidelines), and name credit on the recaps posted on our web site.

Please send a writing sample in the form of a recap (200-400 words) of one of this season's bouts to norahtorious [at] mnrollergirls [dot] com by 11pm, Saturday, March 18. Make sure your email has the subject line: Recap Writer Submission.

The selected writer will be notified on Monday, March 20th and is expected to attend the bout on Friday, March 24 and write the recap by March 26.

After I got back from work this evening, I turned down a tempting dinner invitation with three people I don't see much. Instead, I sat down and worked on music. I didn't just sketch things out like I've been doing, I started doing the stuff I tend to not like doing. The stuff that's the reason behind why those of you who want cd's from me don't have them. I took one of the sketches I posted here a bit ago, and I deconstructed it, located the patches I used, separated the tracks, and started re-recording them. I thought about what I want to do to them to go from 30 second sketch to full track. This is the stuff I almost never ever do unless someone (read: bandmate) pushes me to do it. I can fuck around and make up pretty stuff until the cows come home, but actually starting to organize it in order to get it into a final format is the work part that I tend to not get around to. So, yay. I think I get scared of finishing things because when things are finished is when they can be criticized. Up until then, it's safely in the "work in progress" mode, and I won't really care what you think, since it's not done, see?
Ah, my little artistic insecurites...

And I did some dishes.

And now it's time for derby.

blorp, bloop, bleep.
