It's nice to have my brother home for a while. I wish I felt more social. He is interested in coming up for a while to the lake thingy with my derby girls this weekend, so that's really awesome... I kind of wanted to go except that he's home and I didn't want to spend the last weekend he's here away, so... perfect. I get to hang out with my ladies *and* my brother, *and* we get to do fun summer things like pontoon boats and lake swimming. I think I will head out for just an afternoon instead of staying the whole weekend.

Mom started talking about a visit to DC over MEA. That would be awesome. Except I just realized that's also art crawl weekend, which is trickier. She wanted to go over Memorial Day too, and then I was moving. Argh.

I fell asleep early last night. Well, early for me, which is anytime I can pretty much be guaranteed a full 8 hours. Which I was. I slept really well, which feels great, though I was still kinda groggy this morning. I think my body is still in post-con recovery. Mmmm, coffee.

I went to get my motorcycle from where it was parked for the CON the other day, after finally convincing S4 to take a ride with me. That didn't go so well. As we started to accelerate, the bike fishtailed 'cause I'm not used to carrying a passenger, let alone one that's significantly heavier than I am (nor is that a terribly good idea in the first place, but I wanted to try it and see how it went.) Our weight together also pushed the max load for my little 450. It felt unsafe, so we quit a couple blocks in. Good thing, 'cause then on the few blocks home, it also stalled out twice. Poo. It was idling really low, I didn't give it any choke, and it had sat for several days, so maybe I just didn't let it warm up enough- but it kind of has me freaked out to take it anywhere for now. It's also got me a little nervous about not having a regular ignition switch to get me out of a stall *quickly* in case it should happen again somewhere that's not an empty industrial street in St. Paul. So I'm thinking about figuring out how to put one in, or just having it done. The rest of the short ride home I kept it revved up at stoplights and then took it for some circles in the parking lot and it seemed fine, but... I dunno. I might just need to allow more warm up or adjust the idle speed screws but it may be a bigger problem... The points were redone before it was sold so it seems unlikely, but maybe. I still have some seafoam, maybe I will run some through the next time I fill up. The bike is older than me, so it's bound to be a little finnicky, and we are still getting to know one another.
