(no subject)

I ordered some boots for what will be some sweet-ass new rollerskates tonight.
The part of my brain that doesn't like to believe a sport is important to me is upset with me for spending what could be synthesizer or computer upgrade money on skates, and the rest of it is thinking "eeee! New Skates! That will actually fit my narrow feet really well! And will go faster! And won't do that stupid shit with the tounge sliding over that makes you have to re-tie them every single practice! Sometimes several times! Eeee!"

Also? S4 is awesome and helped me walk-of-shame the motorbike into the lot behind our place, where he also helped me take off one of the carburetors. I have now disassembled it, and hope that I make it better instead of worse.

And now I'm up past my bedtime.

beepbeep.

Vroom?

Carburetor has been swabbed with caustic cleaning agents and reassembled.
It all looked pretty tidy in there, so I hope it actually did something besides get my hands dried out and make my house all fumey. I have a feeling that the bigger problem is the gasket from the engine to the carburetor (where the gas was leaking) hardening up. I wish that it was light out so that I could go put everything back together and see if it works. If nothing else, it turns out that the inside of a carburetor is full of nifty looking stuff. All the internal fittings and jets are made of brass, even the parts that apparently are made of plastic on newer bikes.
Yay, vintage.
