Halfway through November already
Nov. 14th, 2006 03:46 pmShit. Is it really November 14th? For real?
I'm a busy girl, per usual. Omegacon was fun. I learned to play mahjong, Windy made my hair into a satellite dish, I cooked fake hotdogs in a fire pit, I sat in a hot tub, I played pool games and video games, I slept in, and, exactly like I predicted I would, I brought my lappy and my headphones so that I could get a new track done to put on cds for my show this weekend, and then didn't touch it once.
I was sad to miss the derby game, and was extra sad to come back to the news that yet another teamie has a broken ankle. Crap, I think the Rockits are cursed in the broken-ankle department, this one makes three in the last year. Lame, too, she was injured from an illegal takedown from one of the Ohio girls, out of frustration that we beat them so thoroughly. And Minnesota is the team with the rep for skatin' dirty! Hehehe. Oh well. Hopefully she'll heal up quick and can be up and at it again for the bout in January.
This week is all about gearing up for my show on Friday. I wish I knew what time that was happening. The whole thing kicks off at 6, but I don't know when I'm actually playing. I might tell my Mom about it. Usually I don't even let her know when I have a show 'cause she doesn't tend to stay up past 10 and I usually don't go on until at least then, plus I don't really know that she'd like the music I play anyway. But this is earlier, and it's an art opening, which is an environment I think my Mom would dig over a club. Show prep has been my excuse for skipping derby recently, which.. is okay with me, mostly. I hope it's okay with my team. My body has been missing the exercise, though. It's weird when you can tell. I should get my skates back with their new plates soon and that is very exciting.
Eek. And now I have just discovered the possibility that I am double-booked for meetings of various sorts at either 10 or 10:30, but cannot double check because my email is down. Hmmmm....
