Derby vs. The Rest of Life
May. 9th, 2007 09:46 amSo, I didn't make the interleague team. I'm kinda dissapointed, but it will pass; I mostly put my name in to see what would happen and tried not to expect anything. There are players that I consider better than me that didn't make it, either, and some that are on that surprise me a bit. I know it would have made me a better player, but the schedule might well have also driven me crazy or given me severe derby burnout- my summers are already really busy with the convention and Burning Man. On the other hand, I really love playing and I really love travelling, it would have been great to be in really good shape right before Burning Man, and four bouts don't seem like quite enough for all the work we put in. Oh well. I'm really excited that all the teams get an away game, plus as the lineups are set right now I'm going to be jamming a few times in ABQ! Eek! I never jam! So that is exciting and scary in a good way and will push me to work hard for the next month.
Anyway, I've resolved to spend as much of the time as possible that I was mentally preparing to spend skating on IL working on creative things instead, since those are the things that I like to think are more important to me anyway. Yay, musics!
