Art Crawl!
Spent all last night getting ready for the crawl. S4 is finally winning his battles with mat board and his stuff is looking really nice. Since he's busy getting his work ready, I appointed myself in charge of getting our house presentable to a huge crowd. To have more space for the art, this meant moving our entire project area up into the loft. I'm now extra extra glad we were able to get a storage space in the basement. We also moved the huge buckets of plaster and this humungo monitor that we're not using down there. It's quite a big difference.
We moved all the sewing stuff and electronics stuff and weird bins of stuff to make stuff out of up there, along with the big box of hats and mittens and some other weird stuff just to get it out of the way. I think the loft will be the new home of the project/crafty space instead of a library, at least until we get shelves and a plan for that... it's a nice space to contain a mess (open floor plans mean that whatever project mess is being made bleeds really easily into everywhere else- like the kitchen or the music studio or the living area), and the extra bins of fabric and a bunch of my costume-y stuff were already living up there. It's not very practical in other ways, though- running power up there is a pain and there's a nice big pipe right at head-height- so we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, come visit us! S4's new work is awesome and I might play some live music, just 'cause.
