Well, I completed my grant application. They always seem to take more work than you expect, but they're generally worthwhile, even when you don't get them- they force you to think about hard questions and get your shit together. (This is also what we tell people at work... it sounds kind of Pollyanna since so many more people apply than get funded, but, I do actually believe it.) I feel this one is stronger than the last one I submitted (and didn't get), but, who knows. It's also the first time I bothered to meet with a program officer to talk about my questions, too, which was a good idea. Considering the travel and big events for work and the wedding that've all happened this summer, I'm just proud of myself for managing to get it done. I am going to do my best to not think about it once it leaves my hands. Even if I luck out and get it, they don't tell us until February.
