We're in St. Paul, actually. They are very similar and very different at the same time; everyone who lives in one will usually tell you theirs is better than the other, of course. St. Paul is a bit of a Brooklyn to Minneapolis's Manhattan. They are very close together yet very far apart. It tends to be tricky to convince St. Paul-ites to leave St. Paul and even more difficult to get Minneapolitans to leave Minneapolis, even though the two downtowns are about a 20 minute drive apart. Not sure if this is a mental barrier, sheer laziness, or both, as it's a laughable distance to anyone in any larger city. S4 and I were Minneapolitans, but it seems the siren song of our little artsy neighborhood has made us go native. As my job, my home, and one of my biggest time-sucks (roller derby!) are centered in downtown St. Paul, the things I go to minneapolis for are friends and nightlife. St. Paul does have an annoying tendency to feel closed at 5pm.
