It's really really awesome to have a place where, when it's pouring and thundering and lightning out, that I can appreciate it. I missed so many storms in our last apartment because I never could really tell they were happening. Here, the rain pounds down on the skylight. It's awesome.

Found a bike I want. Hope they let me have it. Eeeee! wanitwanitwanit!

Mom bought us a kitchen island for a housewarming present. She's sweet. S4 and I put it together tonight, so now there is a place for the dishes that isn't out on the table. Hooray! Now all we need is a rock.

...

Yaaaay! Owner emailed me back! I may very well have a new/old motorcycle this weekend- '74 Honda CB450!

That's a joke/bad pun, mostly for [livejournal.com profile] gunn's benefit. :) We have a rock (rock rock rock lobster), we have an iiiiiiisland...

Looks like a fine bike, and a close relative of my old 750:

Dual overhead cam, unusual for the time. At 45hp, that's only about 10 less than my CX. Hopefully yours has a disc front brake; not all of that model did.

Heh, I think that 750 was the first bike i was ever on!
I believe this one does have a disc brake.
It'll be interesting to get used to riding compared to my XJ, which had more horsepower, a four cylinder engine, a shaft instead of chain drive, and was 60+ pounds heavier. I had to look it up, but at over 500 lbs, I'm kinda surprised I could pick it up when I dumped!

When I lived in uptown, my room had a big skylight right above my bed. It was freaking awesome, whether it was raining or sunny. Of course then it started to leak. That was less good.
