Vroom?

Carburetor has been swabbed with caustic cleaning agents and reassembled.
It all looked pretty tidy in there, so I hope it actually did something besides get my hands dried out and make my house all fumey. I have a feeling that the bigger problem is the gasket from the engine to the carburetor (where the gas was leaking) hardening up. I wish that it was light out so that I could go put everything back together and see if it works. If nothing else, it turns out that the inside of a carburetor is full of nifty looking stuff. All the internal fittings and jets are made of brass, even the parts that apparently are made of plastic on newer bikes.
Yay, vintage.

A '74 Honda CB450. I'm hoping that I can get it somewhere other than my outdoor parking space downtown, preferably under its own power, before we get snow for real. (We've had some already but nothing has stuck around, yet!)

Miss Alis was nice enough to drive an hour north of the suburbs to pick it up with me this spring, in fact- we didn't even get very lost, and the seller not only tolerated but appreciated our funny colored hair. He also had two very very adorable daughters dressed as a princess and a puppydog. It was a nice day.

My coworker has a '68 BMW... 75/5, I think? He let me drool on it once. All the members of his punk band had them when they were young pups and they formed a motorcycle gang called "Dorks on Parade".

Perhaps I could head up the MN chapter. *sigh* More bikin' friends would be nice. So would a bike that runs... *crosses fingers*
