morning nothing
Just before S4 left for work, I remember saying "My brain and my body are having a fight. Brain says I should get up, but body wants to stay in bed."
He asked who was winning. Without moving, I said "Body!"
It's always hard to wake up when it's raining and it's dark and the blankets are comfy. I still adore the fact that I can hear the rain in our place. In our old apartment I'd likely have no idea that it was raining and thundering this morning.
My foot blistered at the rollerdome on Saturday, and I didn't notice until it ripped. D'oh! Now it hurts. Kind of a lot. I've been washing it and neosporin-ing, covered it with gauze and tape and skated on it last night anyway. I can't decide if that was a good idea or not; I'm not sure if it hurts the same amount as it did yesterday or more. It was a good practice, though. It's a weird week- we have practice again tonight and I don't want to miss but I also want my foot to heal, so I'm not sure or if I should just plow through on my road to monster callus, sit one out, or maybe swap everything back to my old skates for a night. Except I'm a snot enough already about my new skates that I'd really rather not do that, plus it's a pain to swap everything, and I just want my new skates to break in. It's on the arch of my left foot, which means it gets less pressure playing derby, but... it still hurts. Kind of ironic that part of my motivation to skating at the dome was to even things out some since skating the same direction on a short track so much tends to make things lopsided. My right foot ripped in the same place, but it was more callused, so it didn't really matter. The other places they rub or pinch are doing a lot better; they get red but haven't cut or blistered since the first day.
