Just got a message from the tech who fixed my K last week.
This is an unrelated problem that just coincidentally happened right after the other problem, and one too difficult for him to fix in the store. The guts to my K have to be sent back to its makers so they can basically do exploratory surgery on a bunch of ICs to figure out why it won't boot up. Apparently this is becoming a common problem in Kurweils, and they have two or three more of them in the shop right now.
I almost don't want to know what this will cost.

I don't suppose there's any chance that would be covered under a manufacturer's warranty?

I bought the thing about five years ago from an online auction. I believe they started manufacturing them in '93 or thereabouts. I've never been able to afford new gear, thus-

Ahh, well. I wondered if maybe Kurz offered a lifetime warranty or something.
