AHHHH!

This morning, I agreed to play my first-ever solo show, for ElectroTank at the Lab on the 28th of September. That's in just over 2 weeks. I am excited, tempered by a good amount of fear. I've played out a fair number of times, but never all by myself. Eeeeeeeep. I've had my sampler back and functional almost a whole week. While I'm sure everything will be fine, I have a nice case of the whatifs to creep into my everyday thoughts for the next fortnight:

Whatif the mixer messes up like it did that time at Cumulus except I don't have someone to help me get it working again?
Whatif I don't get enough stuff put together?
Whatif the sampler fucks up again?
Whatif the prophet de-tunes itself out of reparable range again?
Whatif the Game Boy is too damn noisy?
What if it sucks?

...

Despite this, I'm super excited; making myself play live has been a personal goal for a long time, so I really hope everything goes all right.

Today I spent a long time at work.

Then noise and star5 fed me 'n' s4 some homemade pizza and it was super yummy. Then we fed them soda and vegan ice cream. Then they played a silly computer game. Then the silly computer game wouldn't let them play anymore. Then we played Catan instead. Then we ate cookies and drank vodka, and it was silly. I somehow never tire of stupid Catan puns and innuendo. Especially if I'm kinda drunk. Ha Ha! Sheep! Wood! Hah!

Yeah. Anyway.

Now it's time for bed.

The end.

Hey, good luck at your show!!!

Can I steal your GIR hoodie idea? My baby-girl turns 13 on the 23rd of this month and I want to make one for her. She got so excited when I told her about yours.

Just make sure that it has the poofy eyes, tongue, jaunty ears, and cartoon stitching. And if you can you should make mittens on the sleeves with squeeky toys built into them so that the wearer can squeek when they walk.

I had all that covered except the squeaker. What a terrific addition that will be! I hear her teachers thanking you already. ;)

What did you use for the poofy eyes? I was going to try and score some huge googly eyes.

Big googly eyes would be cool as hell. What I did was put down a black felt circle and a smaller white circle unclosed, filled it and then closed it up. Poof! Black flat buttons for the pupils and wallah. Cute.
Good luck!
