Goddamnit. A car in the parking lot of my building has a car alarm that's gone off three four five six times in the last half hour or so. I've been staring at the car from my window. As far as I can tell, there is nothing triggering it. There are no loud noises, and there are no people or animals near the car. I want to make it shut up, or at the very least, let its owner know it's an incredible nusaince. It's worse than the hyper yappy dogs across the street, and that's saying A LOT. I want to put a note under the wiper, but I'm afraid if I breathe on the thing wrong, it will go off again.

Ah. One of my neighbors just did it for me. He says this often happens several times a day. We had a conversation through the window wondered if this is the same asshole whose friends all pull up and honk repeatedly to let them know they're here.

Grr.

it's keying time!

so last night i got into bed and was kept awake by a lot of bass tones. it wasn't my computer, it wasn't the guy upstairs to tries to sing along with U2 "With or Without You" every weekend at the top of his lungs while trying to play the guitar... so i went outside to the parking lot and i determined the bass was coming from this one car. I walked up to the driver's side and there was this guy just sitting there... listening to the radio. it was the only thing on in the whole car. at 2AM. he saw me (think i scared him) and i made a 'knob-twisting' motion with my hands. he turned the volume down, i made the 'thumbs-up' motion, and went back in. what the hell?

The sad thing is that there's nothing illegal about it - the cops can't do anything about it unless someone is actively attempting to steal it.

I want to ban car alarms.

A friend of mine and some of his friends worked over some car w/ a baseball bat that had been sitting in front of their apartment with a car alarm going off forever.

Although you're not the type of person to do something like that it's a somewhat cathartic picture to imagine.
