I guess I didn't know I needed a personalized cake pan with daisys on, but now I have one. It will, as it proclaims, carry "Something Special from Caly's Kitchen" faithfully to and from each and every WASTEgiving from now on.

I made S4 and azure_armand watch the Marzipan Pig. I even made s4 watch it twice. I think I will inflict it upon more people soon, perhaps an upcoming Sunday or Wednesday. (Thanks, echoegami!)

I got a lot of really nice things from a lot of people, but I'm feeling left with more of a weird, obligation and consumerist taint to the day than I normally do. Maybe 'cause I bought more gifts than I made this year. Maybe 'cause I feel like I spent kind of a lot of money because of that. Maybe 'cause I'm already sensitive to all the STUFF we already have from moving so recently. I don't know. I have this conflict about accumulating stuff while knowing that a lot of stuff is useful. I don't know. I dislike getting stuff just because people feel like they should get me stuff, and I feel more like that this year than most. Maybe I'm just a crazy communist freak who hates America. Maybe that's it.

Anyway. This is sounding far more negative and jaded than I'm actually feeling. My family's great, my boyfriend's great, my new house is great, my friends are awesome, and I get to sleep in tomorrow and have breakfast with friends back from far away.

All good. Except I wish s4 didn't have to return to retail land tomorrow again already.

by the way, the Caly's kitchen daisy thing is, in its own way, extremely awesome--I would find as many excuses to use that thing as possible, if I were you. I kind of feel like you should join a random PTO at some suburban school where they have potluck PTO meetings, just to use that dish.
