Friday night, I went to the opening night of a puppet show at the UofM called "Articulations" with danger and celias and her friend Jenny. It was really, really good. I recommend everyone run out and see it before it's gone. Well worth it even as a student production with a $12/$14 pricetag. It was kinda strange being in the theatre building again. So much time spent there and so many memories and other productions that I was a part of, and there was only one person of my vintage that I saw. We shared a few theatre department memories and enjoyed the free food they give out for opening night receptions, which was nice. After that, we went to the newly renovated Varsity and met a few more cohorts for an evening of noise. Holy crap, is what they've done to that space cool. Excited to get involved doing an event or several there. The screen is huge and S4 understandably is looking forward to doing some video work there. Some of the music was good, but I was more enjoying the company and the ambience. A lot of the earlier soundy stuff was little more than audio wallpaper, but it served that purpose very well. Some of the noise at the end got pretty brutal. I appreciate it, but can't really take it for extended periods unless I'm in the mood. But it was the kind of new space that makes me glad to live in the cities and look forward to things coming up there. It feels good to be excited about a new venue, especially when it has good memories for people. I missed the old industrial nights they used to do, myself.
Saturday began with some Seward breakfast, continued with some swimming, and I had a nice surprise date with

Now I am home, and I am listening to the mix cds that the lovely Alisgray has given us and cleaning up my very messy apartment. S4 and I were invited to my Mom's house for dinner, which has kind of become kind of a Valentine's tradition, though I will miss having azure and figment there. :( She is going all-out and getting or making all kinds of things for us, appetizers and wine and soup and salad and entree and dessert and everything. Yay, Mom!
