Hey, phone geeks!

So, I'm changing around my cell phone plan to take advantage of a deal, and as a part of it, I get a new phone... So of the cheapie phones, these are my options. Can phone geek people give me some opinions on what they like or don't like about these? Nokia people seem to be fervent believers. And Flippy phone: Good or Evil? I've never had one. The smallness intrigues me, but I feel like moving parts are inherently more breakable.

Personally I'm a big fan of the flip phones. I like the compactness, and when it is open it feels more phone-like. Also it's just poseur cool(in a good way- image is everything after all) to be able to flip open your phone to answer it, and flip it closed to hang up.

one suggestion: go find the phones in a store themselves and get a chance to play with them or touch them a bit. When I was looking for a new one, I had a few picked out and when I got to the store to look at them I totally hated how they felt in my hand or how difficult they would be to dial.

Flippy phones are kinda nice though, you never accidently dial (even with the key lock on mine, if you accidently push the buttons right I get a "Dial SOS?" message on my display ALL THE TIME.) I loved my flippy phone that I used to have (it died, but it was old old old.)

When it came time to buy my last phone I didn't want to get a flip phone (I hate change), but I did anyway. And now I like it quite a bit better than my old Nokia brick-style phone. I don't have to worry about keyguard or scratching the viewscreen when I inevitably drop it on asphalt.

I only wish it made Star Trek Communicator noises when I opened it.

I was very hesitant to leave the Nokia fold. they have a good interface and tough little phones. I've never had a flip phone.

i wouldn't go with LG -- haven't heard too many good things about it. also, it's a company that is fairly new to the american market, and what i've seen & felt i haven't been too keen on.

nokia is a good company, but i don't really like the design of their phone.

i am a flip phone girl, so i would go wtih the samsung -- plus, it's uber light. i have a lot of friends with samsung phones, and they seem to work really well. i just got a new phone & i decided on a motorola phone because it has bluetooth, but the samsung was my second choice.

anyway... my two cents. make it three. ;O :)
