Up Early.
Me 'n' homespun are gonna kick it at the capitol for Arts Advocacy day. I'm a little nervous, I've never met my legislators before and I don't have anything prepared to say to them. The only thing I'm really prepared for is yelling "Yay for art" in a crowd, not writing a detailed letter or five about how important arts funding is and why. "Hi. My name is Caly. I like art. I work with artists all day and I like them a lot. Can you give us some more money? That'd be great."

Coworker K was going to come along, but she sounded extra super sick. Extra super sick people shouldn't go to rallys at the capitol, they should stay in bed. So she is.

I would like some coffee.

In a crowd like that it's important to have someone on hand to offer emergency arts advocacyt should the need arise. I feel safer knowing you are there.

I hope you're advocating the hell out of arts right now. I'm advocating the hell out of maybe getting some lunch before embarking on my quest to find Saint Paul.

If you get the chance, some money for people who fix computers would be nice too.

Pawlenty will only give computer fixers money if he gets eight kabillion dollars from gambling. Get going on those grant proposals!

State gambling is nice because it's a tax on people who are not me.

It does get into some sticky ground re: backing out of native treaties, though.

I didn't think there were any treaties dealing with rights to a gambling monopoly.
