Today, I:

-Called and closed the old stock account. We opened a new one because no one knew we already had one with a different firm. Huh. Stupid.
-filed some invoices and mailed some bills
-checked our personnel manual at the behest of our Board President, to see if we actually offer the benefits it says we do. (We do!)
-Finished retyping 25 dense, leglaese pages of information about starting a nonprofit.
-mailed a bunch of bills
-created a check to disperse some of our emergency relief fund
-emailed questions about the big audit and tax related packet I was asked to fill out to our bookkeeper. I'm guessing she won't know a lot of it, either.
-picked up and distributed, or opened the mail I never got around to getting or distributing or opening yesterday.
-gave homespun's paycheck to [livejournal.com profile] vaxjo
-searched for a northern warehouse tennant's files on our public computers. Didn't find them.
-got a pleasant email from the toner people that renews my hope that they aren't total asshats.
-scheduled a meeting with the copier guy to talk about the copier service contract.
-figured out that we really need to streamline our invoicing procedure. We also really have to streamline how we track our time.
-Got, distributed, or opened mail from today. Got a grant check we weren't expect! Hooray! Getting money in the mail is fun. Getting the mail also includes tearing off the pretty stamps for my coworker who collects, which makes it more fun.

Things yet to do today, or next week, depending on my superpower getstuffdone ability:

-update the website and the job book
-create and email invoices for speaking fees and job book placements
-find the missing deposit paperwork
-create/send letters telling people we're gonna charge more for the job book
-make a deposit
-do all the stuff that I have to do with the grant check and send them a thank you letter
-create thank you letters for fiscal sponsorship donations, copy and send them to fiscal agent people, file that in a billion places
-post all the posty stuff
-post/pay some other bills
-tell the website guy what I don't like about the new website

I think that will do for today. Yep.
This is kind of nice, actually. It reminds me that I actually do do stuff, even when I feel like I'm being all slacky and spend all my time doing things like updating lj.

I never ate lunch. Hrm. Maybe I should.

Getting money in the mail is fun.

Back in 2002 the startup company I was working for got its first major order. We all got to hold the check for One Million Dollars, scanned it for the internal webpage, etc. The VP was walking on air for a few days after that. :) (He got canned about 9 months after I quit... I saw that one coming a mile away...)
