Happy day to everyone who's not Irish, but wants to be. My Dad called to wish me a happy st. pat's, since he's the Irish side. Apparently, in Ireland, today's a religious holiday and is pretty quiet.
We left the office for a little bit and went down to watch the parade.
I'm not feeling cynical, but just honest when I say I like the real Ireland a lot more than what everyone in the States thinks it is or wants it to be or makes it for themselves for this one day, which kind of seems like a big green frat party.
I should scan the cheesy picture of myself I made my Dad take when we were there, standing with my (completely conincidentally) bright green hair and a silly grin in front of the "leprechaun crossing" sign. That would be goofy.
I have no plans tonight. I think I will save up my boozin' for echo's birthday bash this weekend.
Also-
Happy Birthday to nixon. You're sweet.

apparently, there was a guy there with his family who were really excited about roller derby and were asking all of these questions and taking pictures with them. he asked specifically for a picture of them "beating him up." as it turns out, it was the mayor! :) he's going to send the pics to them so we can post it on the website.
i'm sober cab tonight. off i go. weeee.
