I can't help but consider the possibility lately that I've relied too heavily on a single social circle for too long.

The tides seem to be turning, so perhaps I should learn to surf.

sometimes I forget and I call S4, who's bad at that whole phone thing. I should simply call you instead and bypass all that.

I'm feeling waaay more social than I have the last two months or so...

Yah, I miss you. We should triple rock sometime soon.

I'm mostly free for that sort of thing right up through the end of the weekend. :)

I decided the same thing, a year or two ago. I had all my eggs in one basket, and I feel much richer for knowing the edsroom kids, the gothling kids, the cvg kids, and the festie kids. It feels like my life is much more full now.

I realized part of the reasoning driving my desire to join rollerderby is to connect more with a newer group of people with whom I share an aesthetic and attitude, especially because it also includes some older friends I don't see much anymore- old bead coworkers and pirate house folks and stuff.

that's the most attractive thing it seems to me about something like rollergirls.

The stripey tights are definitely a draw as well.

hey I only said you shouldn't do it cuz of Low Orbit. I don't know about the rest of your uh, circle, but I for one won't want you out of my social milieu just because you go skating three days a week. I'm always in favor of broadening things anyway. more more more. take big bites.

i'm still pretty much in the dark about what this rollergirls thing is everyone's talking about. do you think there's such a thing in my town?

I hear ya. My local circle is very very small and limited, mostly to other grad students.
And otherwise it's very faraway. Poo.

But I hear that surfing's fun!

Well, when I finally get my studio back in shape, I must have you and Skaht and some others over to play with all the nifty toys-- though I think they may be a little dated now.
