Logistics.

Okay, remember that April Fool's day joke we were going to play?

I'm not sure it's gonna work.

I don't know how to get the old fish out of his tank. It lives in a big jar, and the mouth is too small for the net we got. (I have no idea how he manages to clean it.)

Suggestions?

Edit:

Fish Phase I complete.

The transfer kicked up a lot of crap from the rocks, so I'm going to let it settle a bit before throwing LittleGuy in there. Party Top is hanging out in a plastic cup full of water inside his net, though he's seeming pretty grumpy about it. He'll be transferred to Little Guy's temporary holding carafe after the switch is made.

Submerge the bottle in a larger body of water and when the fish swims out then you can net it.

Hmm. Interesting. Except I'm all worried about having water with weird chemical composition or the wrong temperature or any of that stuff. I really don't want to kill it.

Well, what are you planning to put the fish into once you have it out then?

Get a second container. Pour the contents of the jar into the second container, using the net as a colander over the mouth of the jar.

That would have been my original idea, but I thought the bottle had a bunch of stuff like rocks and a plant in it. Maybe my memory is being creative.
