So, I made an appointment to bring my bike in today.
And then it was raining a lot.

...and I brought it in anyway.

So, now, on my mental list of things that I've done in my life, I can check off:
"Travelled at high speeds on a motorcycle for a decent period of time during steady rain."

The worst part was feeling the rain gradually collect, drip, and pool in my engineer boots, and then slowly soak into my socks while there was nothing I could do about it.

Anyway, I'm home, and happily dry -in my third pair of pants for the day by 2pm- and my bike'll be a happier, safer little trooper very soon.

I had to ride home from Eden Prairie to Minneapolis in a steady rain on my sportbike last summer. I was okay with my hands sliding on my crappy grips (since replaced!) and my visor fogging, but when I sat up at a light, all the water that collected on my jacket ran down my back and down into my pants.
