Had a nice weekend, comprised largely of sleeping and loafing around and eating junk food and watching movies, with enough productivity sprinkled in so as not to feel like a total loaf. Boy, I feel like I needed that.
I even got started on the little music project for pied piper, once I found batteries for the game boy. Hee hee.

My apartment is almost to a point where I won't be embarrassed to have people over. Maybe we'll even host another party someday after all...

Derby practice was in the Excel concourse. It felt like we were somewhere we shouldn't be. The floor was really smooth and speedy, which was fun. It was fun to pretend it was a Quake level or something, zipping by all of those gates and big poles. I only ran into a wall twice. Such a rock star!

Did you know that the new Battlestar Galactica is a REALLY REALLY GOOD SHOW? It's true.

I had a weird smorgasboard of dream, which included our burning man camp and our neighborhood bar- even Gadget from center camp made an appearance, who I only met briefly. And then I dreamed that I couldn't remember where I'd parked my motorcycle and that my participation in roller derby was contingent on locating both my motorcycle and, for some reason, the pet rabbit I'd had as a kid. My brother was there to assist me in finding these things. A combination of the rain, the garbage truck, and my bladder woke me up mid-dream around 5am, when I had a fair amount of confidence that my toilet was some kind of interdimensional portal, which made my intention of using it for its normal purpose a little stressful.

Maybe taking a zinc lozenge right before bed is something to be wary of?

ha. i simultaneously posted something a little different about Battlestar Galactica. the fracking swearword substitutions were really getting to me in the first 2-3 episodes. as was the god-talk from the cyborg lady.. and the cyborg lady consciousness-invasion subplot developments generally. but then it seemed these features were altogether missing from the 4th? episode, which i obviously then found to be much more pleasing. i do hope this trend continues.

I have some of the same issues. And here let me ruin it for you. I can't watch any more episodes because I heard that in the future one's I haven't seen yet Starbuck (my hero!) sleeps with Gaius. I HATE HIM. I hate his whole plot areas and I want him killed. But no, I hear they make him vice president. I can't watch. Or at least not alone.

we watched the next couple of episodes today and the fracking fracking was out of control! and now i can't even watch the Gaius parts and i'm internally imploring starbuck *not to do it*! it's really disturbing to wonder how that starbuck-and-gaius thing gets played out. akckhgkhgkhg it's bad no matter what, but the depths to which that could go are truly terrifying to contemplate. i spared oliverx your spoilers until he insisted just now that i tell him. so now he will be terrorized too. aren't we fun?! he wants gaius killed too.
