Eeeeh, fuck.

My shoulder/neck is doing that hurty thing again, just for bout day! Hooray. I'm not going to let it keep me from playing tonight, especially since it's likely I won't be in the game a ton as it is, and also, because of where I tend to play I'll give and recieve most hits on my other side, but *still*.

I'm mostly, if not completely, pain-free in a neutral pose, when I turn my head a lot either way it hurts, but once it gets where its going the pain stops.

I'm not used to sporty related pain. I'm not sure if this one is from derby or from yoga or from a nice combo... So, sporty people (molly?) what should I do to either make this better as soon as possible, or at least make it not worse? Rub it? Stretch it? Leave it alone? Ice it? Heat it? Put smelly sporty cream on it? Take an over the counter painkiller? Any combination of these things? My inclination is that it feels tight and wants to be heated and stretched, but I know those things can also make things worse.

Bleh.

Anyway. Still excited.

The weird thing I've found with neck/shoulder sorenesses is that often the source of the pain isn't where you'd expect it to be. Usually I can track those things down to a really nasty knot more in the shoulder blade region.

Hmm. Yep, Monday night there was a big knot near my shoulder blade, post-yoga. It's much more a focused pain when I turn my head.

it sounds kind of like a pinched nerve; generally when that happens to me aI can stretch it out a little bit, but that only gives me a bit more range of movement before the pain kicks in; if you put yourself into the position that hurts you should be able to trace it with your fingers and will probably find a source for it down by your shoulderblade- massaging that will help; but mostly its a wait and let it fix itself kind of thing

by the way scratch the pinched nerve thing, that's just my generic name for it, but it isn't technically correct
