Having one's car stolen is an awfully crappy way to come back from a nice vacation.
The fact that it was driven two blocks, parked illegally with a ticket waiting, and is fucked up enough to have its final resting place be a junkyard by the end of the day are some nice swift kicks in the pants, too.
...as is the fact that I'm not sure where the title is. Maybe Mom has it. *sigh*
Ah, Clyde. You were the first car that was legally mine. We kept you going even though we had to replace your exhaust system and your radiator and get the ignition re-keyed and fix your brakes a lot and ignore that oil leak for a real long time and neither the heat nor air conditioning work and your hood latch is broken so it would take two people and a dose of luck in order to pop the hood- that was especially fun the whole summer I put off fixing your radiator and had to replace water or oil at least once every two weeks. I will always remember rockin' out to your swank AM-only radio, RadioK during the day and the smooooth tunes and geriatric-targeted advertising of KLBB when the sun went down. Remember when you decided to visit that ditch out at Bahb's house on that mile-long dirt driveway next to a tree and a lake and it took AAA 45 minutes and a winch to get you out again? Yeah. Remember that time you were still in good enough shape to go all the way to South Dakota to hang out with
adamnation and S4 and I locked the keys inside outside the Fry'n Pan in Sioux Falls? You even got to go to Hudson and visit star5's family that year for Christmas! Yep. Good times.
I know you had more fun with me and Joe and S4 than you ever did with your namesake in his 70's who only ever drove you to the store and to church- I just know it.
Sorry you had to go and get boosted in the lamest way possible.
So, yeah.
...anyone selling a little car? Looks like we need one again.

Date: 2005-10-12 09:21 pm (UTC)It'd be great to get details... do you know what kind it is? We adore our Metro and would prefer another wee hatchback or a small sedan.
This one was an '87 Celebrity and had one foot in the grave for a long time. It totally sucks, but if one had to go and get fucked up, at least it was the crappier one.
