Drove the new old car to the roller rink last night. Zoom! I still adore our BetsyBean, but I have to say it's nice to drive a car with four whole cylinders! Here's hoping it has a good amount of life left for a 17 year old beater... The thing that made it burn oil is fixed, and it had a new clutch put in really recently. The two things that make us worry a bit are brakes that are a little grindy, and a noticeable shake at high speeds. We're hoping both problems are caused at least in part because it sat a while before anyone drove it. The shake could be a lot of different things - maybe it needs an alignment. *shrug* Even if we have to put a bit of money into it right away, we still got a really good deal on it. It's waaay more fun to drive than Clyde ever was, plus all the lights and signals work. Bonus.
So, new old car good.
Other good stuff:
Skating for fun was exactly that last night.
We have groceries.
House is still clean.
Motorcycle is safe for winter if I want it to be. Also, r0ckc4ndy is super awesome for offering to host Feigal for the winter if I don't move him to Mom's house before it gets *really* prohibitively cold, and also a fabulous walk-of-shame buddy.
Since I have this newfound mobility and S4 works late tonight, I'm thinking I might head to the Spyhouse with the gameboy in tow and get some work done for pied_piper. Hey,
