I really have to remember that I am a happier, healthier person when I have food in my house. And not just *any* ol' food, but good food, like apple cider (the real kind that actually tastes like apples and not that watered down gallon-jug bullshit the color of pee), fresh vegetables (yumyumyumyum organic spinach and red bell pepper) and basics to cook things, like, oh, flour. And soymilk.

I'm hungry sooo often, so this whole kick I'm on lately to keep stuff around to eat is really, really nice!

I get stuck not buying groceries for really long periods of time, and going out gets so expensive. And really, when I'm busy and live in downtown St. Paul, it's really not terribly convenient, either.

Also, I've missed cooking, but have realized that I need two main things in order to feel at all like I want to cook anything. Those things are:
a) ingredients
and
b) a clean kitchen.

It seems really simple, but it's often rare that I have one of those things, let alone both.

After a good two hours of knocking girls around, dang does a big ol' salad kick some ass.

All very true. Well, I have little experience knocking girls around, but I'm sure you're on the money with that as well. It's hard to keep good food around though - particularly the perishables. I am sad to say I think the key is throwing out a lot of mediocre perishables that you haven't had time to eat yet. That, or allocating an entire staff person to precisely manage food purchase and cooking schedules. Sadly, I only have a single staff person to allocate, and there are a lot of other tasks that need attention.

Yeah, that's a problem. I hate throwing away perishables for no reason other than I was too damn lazy to cook with them. I was so proud of myself- I made tofu pot pie last night and used up a bunch of potatoes and carrots that had been in my fridge for a long time.
