Your Birthdate: December 19 |
![]() You are resilient, and no doubt your resilience has already been tested. You've had some difficult experiences in your life, but you are wise from them. Having had to grow up quickly, you tend to discount the advice of others. You tend to be a loner, having learned that the only person you can depend on is yourself. Your strength: Well developed stability and confidence Your weakness: Suspicion of others Your power color: Eggplant Your power symbol: Spade Your power month: October |
Mine seems darker than most, somehow. Huh.
It was pointed out by one of the former figure skaters on our team how to do crossovers correctly and get more power from a stride- this was a light-bulb moment for me, like when a new move "clicks" while spinning poi. I'm gonna get faster! Zoom! It's so much more exciting to me to improve technique instead of just pushing harder physically- the difference seems so much more immediately apparent. Neat. Maybe I'll even start training to jam eventually, but for now I'd rather concentrate on not falling down so much when I hit or get hit. I can give and take hits really well in practice, but sometimes it falls apart in the chaos of the game.
I think I'll play with music more tonight.

Date: 2005-11-10 06:08 am (UTC)I reallyreallyreally hope the productive music mood stays. Lately I feel like all the stuff we tell people at Springboard is starting to sink in and feel applicable, which is awesome.
Tonight, while I didn't work on any sounds, I did try to chase down a gig and reasearch potential others. The deadline for submissions for this thing has passed, but the event isn't until February, so I asked. K always says "If you don't ask, the answer is always 'no'." :) So while it's unlikely that it will happen, the guy in charge emailed me back within 20 minutes (after 10 pm!) and I may yet be able to squeak in. I realize that I only *really* kick into productive mode when I have deadlines- so I'm trying to cultivate them. Even softer ones like "make my friends music cds by the end of the year" are better than none.

Date: 2005-11-10 06:13 am (UTC)I'm so glad you asked and are getting deadlines. I find that I'm the same way - and why I'm afraid to leave the paper, perhaps! :)
IfWhen you get into your gig, posted-y postpost about it so we can go. :)You are so skilled and talented, I really hope this period of pushing forward works super well for you.
