I drove aaaaaallll over town, since the bug hit that no, really, I should be able to hear my music.

Managed to find a good deal on a used Alesis RA-100. It is miiiiinnnne.

If I'd known how giddy actually hearing music would make me, I'd have done this a looooong time ago. It's gonna be so cool to turn on my amp and know that it's not going to reliably cut out one channel or do that icky fuzzy thing when I turn the volume pot. And now I can actually get the full effect of the sweet little NS-10s I bought extra awesome cheap last year.

They're full of awesomeness. I'm rockin' out in here, and nothing is above 3.5!

...except for the one channel cutting out, still. Grrr. Hmm. I rewired it and it seems to be okay again, though. Hope it stays that way.

Also? I really, really like Duo 505. A lot.

Dear Zool, you're listening on NS-10's? They're like cheese graters to the ears.

Feel free to not use them.

I liked 'em plenty 'til I realized it wasn't the amp or the cable's fault my left one is cutting out.

No, I get it-- they're popular monitors, partly because they are SO bad that if you get your mix to sound good on them, it will sound good anywhere. But I couldn't see using them as the main monitors all the time, particularly for critical listening.

Hell, I have a Klipsch multimedia sattelite thingy that I'm currently using in the bedroom as the main sound system and it's fine for just listening or watching TV, but in the studio it would drive me nuts.

Maybe it's just me.
