if you think of a good way to do that with music, let me know, because i was thinking about trying something like that, too, but i couldn't figure a way to do it.
also you should check out explodingdog.com if you haven't already.

there's a group--i think it's called "the lodge"--of people who started in portland and do something like that. basically you have 48 hours or 24 hours to record say, seven tracks, and you have to just bust them all out and completely finish them, and all the material has to be completely new. then all the people get together and share what they made and apparently in general this sort of thing attracts really cool people. a i understand it, the idea started in portland but i heard a while ago that there was one meeting in minneapolis. i'll try and find out.

yes. sometimes little rules and structure like that can make things easier. i like that when i'm doing drawing projects or other artsy things..
