It's so hard to not feel hopeless.

When I visited the air and space museum in DC, I saw a documentary about the international space station. One of the astronauts remarked that it was very freeing, seeing our little blue marble from space without the borders that always accompany it on a globe and all their implications.

I wish I was there right now. I really want a vacation from Earth, or at least from the selfish, fear driven "moral" "right" that's been at the helm, and seems will stay there for the forseeable future.

The longer something is repressed, the stronger the backlash.

Stay strong.

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

From boingboing.net:

Kerry concedes.
Four more years of a nation led by criminals. I was making coffee with one eye on CNN when the news broke, and I called my dad, a man who's spent many years fighting for good things, sometimes at great personal cost.
"Get over it," he said, "The way you feel now is exactly how I felt when Nixon won a second term -- crushed. I just couldn't believe America was that stupid. "But remember what happened to Nixon that term." "Change comes from discontent," he said. "And right now, there's a lot of discontent."
