my two days off.
Feb. 28th, 2005 09:21 amHad a full weekend.
Here is my weekend, mostly in list form.
-Dinner with parents
-Firefly viewing with cute girls
-Really really really awesome homemade present received from
star5
-Breakfast and shopping
-Crafty project=new coffee table for spacebug and S4.
(Coffee tableage was sorely lacking in our living room environs, causing precarious beverage placement and more than one spillage. The problem has been remedied admirably, and really cheaply! Plus S4 got to use his new miter saw, which he was really happy about.)
-Celebratory snack placement upon new coffee table and viewing of more ALIAS
-Breakfast with the lovely S&M, visiting from Europe
-Work on secret project with
star5
-On to RollerDerby!
Okay, I really don't remember the last time I had nearly so much fun at something that could ostensibly be called a sporting event. Knowing people on all but one of the teams, I just cheered for everyone, much like
lokey.
And now... I kinda wanna join up. I can be fiercely competitive when I wanna be. And it'd be superfun to wear a cute outfit and kick some ass. And I could use the exercise.
But I doubt I'm in good enough shape or a good enough skater (though I know some of the girls are nearly chain smokers... I mean, really...), and even if I was, it's a huge time commitment- I already don't spend enough time doing the creative stuff I want to do, and their next recruitment push is when I'll be supersupersuper busy with the convention. And also S4 really doesn't want me to break my ankles, which is a good point. Man, how much would it suck to sustain a derby injury, like, the week before we left for Burning Man or something? 'Cause that's when it'd happen.
But anyway, it was really fun to watch and I'll definitely go again.
Tonight is my first yoga class with
star5. I'm really looking forward to it.
