Glad to be home.
Feb. 25th, 2005 12:45 amDriving back to St. Paul around midnight from Minneapolis tonight, I found myself suddenly in stop and go traffic. Moving up, I saw what might have been a father and son taking video footage of all the lights ahead from a pedestrian overpass. When I'd finally inched up to see what it all was, I felt sick to my stomach. A sedan that had been heading westbound on 94 was upside down, and a huge semi truck was tipped over. Its cab was crunched into the barrier and spilling over to the eastbound side. There were at least two medical crews, several tow trucks, squads and troopers. Flares cordoned off all but one lane on the eastbound side.
It's at once humbling and unsettling to be reminded of our frailty.
