[livejournal.com profile] r4c left for the evening.
High-fives have been exchanged.
The new track is done, save tweaking the mastering.
It is dense and delicious and filled to the brim with tasty beats.
Its working title has been "Spacebeats", or "Beats In Space".

I think it just might stick.

While it sounds completely unZurroundish in its finished form, it has elements that make me think that pied piper and sarendipatree were lending the brain. My bassline for a moment sounded very keeveresque (only keeveresque in a Zurround sense, though, in that funk-meets-metronome kinda way), and the synth patch breifly reminded me of the swooshy Jj in Sea of Fire.
Interesting. Maybe I can attribute some of that to miss echoegami as well, seein's how we got together for some music making recently.

Anyway.

Boy. Work was pretty crazy today, as it was help-40-odd-not terribly-computer-literate-artists-use-mnartists.org-day. It was fun, though, no one was fussy or impatient or rude at all. In fact, I was thanked a whole lot and think I did a good job of maintaining a cheery and patient outlook all day, despite the server crashing repeatedly and getting basically no training. I like working with creative people a lot, and everyone was so excited to just get help getting their work online at all and for free. Their good cheer was pretty infectious, and it was fun to see what everyone was doing: abstract and impressionistic painters, jazz and folk and wedding musicians, dancers with video of their performances, a slide show of sketches, an opera singer- all kinds of stuff.

So. Wow. Friday tomorrow already, huh? And June, too?

Man.
2005 approaches half.
It seems to be getting better. Hope I'm right.
