Body-swapping cannibals? WTF, brain?
Mar. 23rd, 2006 10:46 amFor as every bit as lovely as my dream was night before last, the one last night was pretty harrowing and weird. I was at a party that was a sort of grotesque masquerade party- you could either dress up or you could do some sort of charm that would put your mind in someone else's body. I swapped bodies with someone who was supposed to be
windelina, but was way less cute and with a lazy eye. My Mom came and thought that windelina (who had subsequently swapped into my body) was me, and started critiqueing her/my party attire and manners. The really harrowing part of this was that other friends at the party were acting like some sort of cannibal/zombie creature, and it was incumbent on me to kill them before they ate me or any other non affected party goers. Knowing who was who was really complicated because of the body switching and the costumes, and I couldn't move very easily in the shorter body that I wasn't used to. I remember crouching in a corner with a knife preparing to stab a good friend in self defense.
I woke up dazed and out of sorts, an hour earlier than normal to get to a meeting this morning. For whatever reason, I haven't been sleeping well lately, despite trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour so that I quit feeling vaguely sick and have a chance of feeling rested for the bout tomorrow (I really prefer bouts on Saturdays for that reason)... but I keep having tossey-turney nights or being woken up by S4 snoring lightly and move to the couch where I'm sometimes lulled to sleep by the swishing freeway traffic white noise.
Pattern class is done. Next is the bout tomorrow. Then it's my show, and then it's the bout on the 15th. Then I will rest. And go to the doctor. And start yoga classes again.
